No! Yeah! Super!

Hellooooooooo everyone!!

Jenna AND Shaneice here!
Last time I (Jenna) posted I was bidding the old Chronicles farewell, and promised I would return when a new blog was in the works. We're happy to announce that within the next couple of months we will begin a joint blog together! As much as we love Chronicles and Straight on till morning we've outgrown our sites and are on to bigger and better adventures!

Stay tuned for a link on both Chronicles of a Curly Head and Straight on till morning to the new site.
It's going to be one hell of an adventure.

Until then follow Jenna on Instagram HERE and Shaneice on Instagram HERE for daily adventures and shenanigans leading up to the big blog debut!

Stay tuned....

It's not you.....It's me.

Holy Moly
Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooo everyone!!!!

::Gasp::
Could it be??

Why yes! Yes it could!
I'm baaaaaaaaaaack!!

It's been nearly three months since the last time I sat down at the ol' Mac Book to do a little Chronicleing (Chronicleing?? lol) I hope each and every one of you are doing magnificent! I truly truly do.

How has your summer been thus far? Mine has been....well.....interesting, great, stressful, horrible, awesome, etc. The last six months or so have been extremely eye opening in terms of my life, how I conduct it, what I want career wise, where I am, and most importantly where I want to go!

To those of you who e-mailed, messaged, commented, etc. asking me where I am and more often than not - if I'm alive haha. I am alive and well I can assure you! Just been a bit all over the place mind wise. Thank you for your concern and I'm sorry if I didn't get back with you in a timely fashion....or if I didn't get back with you at all (I have a terrible memory....which makes me an asshole with e-mails and such lol).

Looooooong story short of where I've been and why I left:

I was burned out on social media, burned out on myself, tired of food, and just my computer in general. My intention was to take a couple of weeks and just break from CCH and come back with a fresh mind set. Well days turned into weeks, weeks turned to months, annnnd you get the picture.  I got lazy, tired, complacent, and just blahhhh.

I chalked my not wanting to blog up to not wanting to sit at the computer, but after much self reflection I've come to find it had nothing to do with anyone else but myself. Because let's be honest - I looooove to blog!

I haven't been satisfied with the state of my home life, my health, my job, etc. so I haven't been jazzed enough to get on CCH and share things. No one wants a negative Nancy giving them food and life advice now do they? Lol. You all know me to be quite happy, bubbly, uplifting, hilarious (maybe that last one is just me lol).

I definitely lost touch with the jennaisms I once identified within myself, and CCH just doesn't have the same feel as it once did. But I do believe I can say with 100% certainty that I am back!  As ridiculously hilarious and driven as ever!!

So what does this all mean?

Well......Chronicles..... I am sad/proud/happy/skeptical/nervous/stoked/superemotional to say that I am indeed breaking up with you.

I am starting a brand new blog and I will no longer be posting on Chronicles of a Curly Head.

The best reason I can give is that I've outgrown this ol site. It's time for a fresh name, fresh look, fresh ideas, and a fresh Jenna (I've always been fresh....in case there is any confusion lol). Perhaps the new site won't seem very different to you regulars since you all know me so well, but I need a new site for me more than anyone else.

You'll notice a lot of changes and a lot of similarities. The kinks are still being worked out.....and by still being worked out I mean I just decided all of this an hour ago and my head is going a mile a minute haha.

Needless to say I love blogging. I love all of the people, chefs, industry folk etc. that I've met through CCH. This turned into something way bigger than I ever thought it would be....and let's face it - this is still a pretty little site haha. So that says a lot!

I've learned waaaaay more than I ever though I could. It's funny what hours and hours of food industry research will do to a girl lol. I've discovered so many things within this crazy industry - everything from restaurants, to kitchen gadgets. It all continues to fascinate me.

I am very proud to say that I was so dedicated to not only teaching but learning as well. Looking back I can now see that CCH has turned me into not only a well rounded young lady, but a well rounded culinarian within the food community as well.

But all of that being said - It is prime time I take blogging more seriously and make a job out of it. I've always wanted to do it but hadn't a clue how. Well boys and girls I'm about to figure it out!!! So keep your eyes pealed 0_o

Last but not least I will not be removing/deleting CCH by any means......

Why? For the exact reason why I started CCH in the first place: to educate people about the food industry (the good, bad, ugly, and hilarious) and as self preservation of sorts. I have a TERRIBLE memory, and I would hate to miss out on the opportunity to look back on the last two years or so. Chronicles of a Curly Head will definitely serve as a great point of reference with my new blog as well.

I hope CCH has been as helpful, humorous, wonderful, crazy, and every other adjective in the book for all of you as it has been for me. I'm not going anywhere I can assure you. Be sure to come back in a couple of months or so - I will most definitely be posting a link to my new site!

I leave you with the first photograph I ever published on CCH.....

Thank you so very very much for reading.

(4) YODERS

"Since 1975, Yoder's Amish Restaurant has become a favorite and is a tradition for many families from all over the country. Sweet aromas of fresh baked fruit pies and homemade bread fill the air as you enter at Yoder's. Though the pies are the signature item, lots of folks come for the 18 reasonably priced, hearty portioned dinners such as Mom's Meatloaf, served with real mashed potatoes and "made from stock" gravy. Homemade bread and apple butter is served at every meal. Breakfast specials include biscuits and gravy, Mom's sweet rolls, and homemade French toast. As Sarasota's original Amish Restaurant, Yoder's prides themselves in Amish home cooking made from scratch, serving their guests an Amish meal experience that goes beyond their expectation. Guaranteed!
Most would agree, it's Mrs.Yoder's homemade pies that are the biggest draw. "The secret is in the crust and the fresh fruit fillings," says Mrs.Yoder. She insists on using only the best and is very "picky" about all her pies, with over 25 varieties to choose from."

(1) ICESAC
"Like a good cocktail every once a while? Need crushed ice? Here’s your solution: A super sturdy silicone bag with an unusual shape, made for one thing and one thing only: To hold ice that will be whacked! You tried the towel, that didn’t work. Tried the grinder, until that broke. Tried the ice pick, until you had to go to the ER. Try the ice bag and never look back. Add ice, pull drawstring, use whacker and voila, crushed ice!"

It's no secret that I've loved SNL my whole life - I've always wanted to be a cast member. Out of all of the seasons (along with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey) Kristin Wiig is one of my all time favorite female cast members. Watching her goodbye show actually made me sad. I wish I got this send off every time I left a job. Perfect.
