Busy week ahead...

This week is my last week of school before spring break.
Which means I have a bunch of tests to study for and a bunch of homework assignments to do.

My blogging schedule will most likely be all out of wack.
I will continue to post every day (or at least try) - I can promise that.

So keep checking every once in a while!
I won't let you down readers...whoever you are.
I usually wake up anywhere from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
I usually have my lap top nearby
And I usually update my blog while eating breakfast.

Today I woke up at 10:45 (the time change messed me up!)
My lap top wasn't nearby - I wasn't even at home.
And I didn't eat breakfast until noon.
Today was an off day of sorts blog wise. But so much fun.

I ate brunch at 'The Cheesecake Factory' with my fella (delicious)
And we watched 'Alice in Wonderland' in 3D at the Greene (amazing)

What could make this day any better you ask? I have my first 'real' featured curly head!
Read on to see who it is!

Let us begin...

BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE

"Oakland, California, a slightly disaffected freelance musician and coffee lunatic, weary of the grande eggnog latte, and the double skim pumpkin-pie macchiato, decides to open a roaster for people who are clamoring for the actual taste of freshly roasted coffee. Using a miniscule six-pound batch roaster, he makes an historic vow: "I will only sell coffee less than 48 hours out of the roaster to my customers, so they may enjoy coffee at its peak of flavor. I will only use the finest organic, and pesticide-free, shade-grown beans. If they can't come to me, I will drive to their house to give them the freshest coffee they have ever tasted." In honor of Kolshitsky's heroics, he names his business The Blue Bottle Coffee Company, and begins another chapter in the history of superlative coffee."

INSIDE THE CAT AND DOG MEAT MARKET IN CHINA

"Dogs bark and whine behind high chain-link fences, some of them gnawing the wire so hard they bleed at the mouths while cats packed into crowded cages cower in fear if anyone approaches. This isn't a pet store -- it's a meat market in Guangzhou, a city in southern China where eating cats and dogs is common practice. At the Han River Dog Meat Restaurant in central Guangzhou, diners can choose from a long list of menu items, including dog soup, dog steak, dog with tofu and more. In the kitchen, the chef chops up meat for dog hot pot, one of the more popular dishes. Most customers like it spicy."

"Dog meat is good for your health and metabolism," explains Li, the hostess who declined to give her first name. "In the summer it helps you sweat." But these local restaurants may have to find a new specialty. The Chinese government is considering legislation that would make eating cats and dogs illegal."

[[Today's curly head]]

MIA COLEMAN

Mia is one of my oldest friends and one of the curliest people I know.

So who better to feature than her?

Due to the fact that Mia is the first true curly head I’ve featured-

I decided to post more than just 2 pictures of her

(by true curly head - I mean she isn’t a celebrity)

Plus she’s gorgeous – so I’m providing you with a plethora of eye candy

(you’re welcome)

You will come to find – Mia is just a cool gal with a big ol curly head like me.

Enjoy your socks off.

Your: Name, Location, Occupation

Mia Coleman, Dayton Ohio, “Model” at Abercrombie & Fitch – (didn’t make that up) & singer/songwriter

Tell us why you love being a curly head.

Awesome things about being a curly head is that it helps make my head look smaller, I will always look younger because of it, curly heads always stand out, and it’s the best kind of hair to shake and rock out with.

Fill us in on what makes you a unique curly head.

I’m a unique curly head because I’m a mixed curly head. I have the best of both worlds, similar maintenance of white people hair, and thick fullness of black people hair. (You could say that more politically correct if you want lol). Plus I’ve never cut it, only trimmed cuz my mommy loves it long.

Give any tips or secrets you might have about maintaining hair like yours.

I mainly only condition my hair in the shower to revitalize and lock in moisture, only shampoo once or twice a week. I rarely brush or comb it because that makes my hair fall out and I want it as thick as possible. Sun is the best way to dry my curly hair, I never blow dry it. When it isn’t sunny out, I guess I make sure you have a few hours to kill, I haven’t mastered how to dry it other than waiting lol. I use regular gel, and ‘Frizz ease wind-down’ relaxing cream for the ends of my hair that I order online (they are out of stock in stores now so online is the only way to get it, oh the tortured life of a curly head) then I scrunch it out when it’s dry so that there is no dry crunchy yuckiness

Here are a couple of pictures of Mia and I…..just because lol.

If you would like to learn more about this curly head.

Or just think she’s a cool gal
