Rainrainrain

Someones got a case of the 'morning curls' today...
Looking more pale than usual...
And looking ever so thrilled to be alive. Lol.

I work a double today...so I'm not too happy-obvisouly.
Who can force a believable smile when they work a double? Not me that's for sure.
It's been raining almost non stop the past two days.

Disadvantages:
-It's not only raining - it's cold and raining :(
-My hair has been uncontrollably frizzy/fro like.
-I couldn't see more than ten feet ahead of me on the highway.
-My dogs refuse to stay outside more than a minute, but still manage to get all muddy.

Advantages:
-I get to wear my cute rain boots (huge plus- my feet stay dry!)
-When I drive- I go straight through all of the big puddles so I splash other cars
(mean? maybe...fun? definitely!)
-There is a big possibility work won't be very busy during lunch time today.
-I have an excuse for my hair to look the way it does.
-I am able to be lazy all day long without feeling the least bit bad.

Let us begin...

GET WHIF OF CHOCOLATE, COFFEE INHALER

"A product billed as the first “breathable food” had its stateside launch yesterday in Cambridge, and its Harvard University creator hopes it’s a “hit” with consumers.

Le Whif is fine chocolate and coffee powder encapsulated in a lipstick-shaped inhaler that’s puffed for a new way of “eating by breathing,” according to Harvard biomedical engineering professor David Edwards.

Edwards and his Paris-based ArtScience Labs used particle engineering to form chocolate and coffee in microscopic sizes, small enough to become airborne, but too large to enter the lungs. Each Le Whif, which retails for about $2.50, has enough breathable food for eight puffs or “whifs.”

BUTLER BAG

I feel like Mary Poppins sometimes.
I pull the most random things out of my bag lol.
I am in need of a purse that has a built in organizer just like this.
Because once something goes into my bag...there is no telling how many days or weeks
it will be until I see it again.

This struck a chord with me.
Maybe it will with you too.
Even though a very small portion of my readers are even chefs.
Maybe you can apply it to whatever field you're in.

[[Today's recipe]]

MY KITCHEN SINK OATMEAL

::Ingredients::

½ cup steel cut oats

(These have the best texture and are the least processed. But you can also use unflavored instant (or) quick oats as well)

¼ cup water

(I use enough water to make my oatmeal creamy, if you want yours thicker, use less water – want it more liquidy? Use more water)

1 pinch of salt

3-5 shakes of cinnamon

(don’t use too much or the flavor is unpleasantly overpowering)

a few drops of vanilla extract

1 tablespoon peanut butter

10 almonds

2 tablespoons of raisins

3 dried apricots

1 teaspoon honey

*I usually add a splash of fat free milk at the end for an extra creamy texture

::Directions::

-Put oats and water into a small pot on meduium high - high heat

- Let this mixture come to a small boil (make sure to stir frequently so the oats don’t stick and/or burn to the bottom of the pan)

-Once this has reached a small boil – turn the heat down to about a medium level.

-Now -toss in the salt, cinnamon, and vanilla. Then give it a good stir (at this point, you should constantly be stirring).

-My favorite part! It’s time to stir in the peanut butter until it is completely incorporated in the oatmeal.

- Go ahead and stir in the almonds, raisins, apricots and honey.

If you are satisfied with the consistency and the thickness of your oatmeal. Then it’s time to eat!

If not, add a little bit more water or (you could do what I do and..)

add a splash of milk to thin out the consistency & make it creamier!

Enjoy!

Tomorrow I will be featuring a very special curly head!
I have asked her to be my first curly head who isn't already a celebrity.
So make sure you take the time to stop by and read all about her
and her beautiful locks!

Have a wonderful Saturday
