KID CUDI – PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
This song has 2 music videos – I’m pretty sure I already featured the other one…but this one is my fav.
“Nationally acclaimed and locally beloved, Hominy Grill is a Charleston institution serving classic southern specialties that taste just like Grandma used to make (well, if Grandma had known how to cook, that is! But that’s another story….) We don’t open any cans here; all is prepared from scratch with fresh, locally raised ingredients.
Chef/proprietor Robert Stehling first learned to cook under Bill Neal at Crook’s Corner in Chapel Hill, NC. He then worked for several years in New York before moving to Charleston where he opened Hominy Grill. He received the prestigious James Beard Best Chef Southeast award in 2008.
Hominy Grill serves breakfast, lunch, dinner & weekend brunch.”
The section that features the “Hominy Grill” starts at 3 minutes and 30 seconds in and ends at 6:50– that is if you want to fast forward through Anthony talking about SC….but who wants to fast forward through this silver fox?? ;)
(1) EAT YOUR WAY TO A BETTER TAN
"Fruits such as cantaloupe melon and apricots, and vegetables like peppers, carrots and spinach all enhance skin tone and make people look more attractive, academics have found. Switching to a healthier diet can have visible effect on the complexion in as little as a month, they discovered.
The findings, which have yet to be officially published, could be used as part of a more positive campaign to convince people to eat more fruit and vegetables.
According to Ian Stephen, an experimental psychologist at Bristol University, the secret to the perfect skin tone is found in naturally ccurring chemicals called carotenoids. These are a group of some 600 organic pigments found in many plants. Stephen examined the role of beta-carotene in green and orange fruit and vegetables in changing skin tone."

(2) CRACKING DOWN ON THE OCEAN’S PIRATE FISHERMAN
"The oceans are being emptied of fish. A forthcoming United Nations report lays out the stark numbers: only around 25% of commercial stocks are in a healthy or even reasonably healthy state. Some 30% of fish stocks are considered collapsed, and 90% of large predatory fish — like the bluefin tuna so prized by sushi aficionados — have disappeared since the middle of the 20th century. More than 60% of assessed fish stocks are in need of rebuilding, and some researchers estimate that if current trends hold, virtually all commercial fisheries will have collapsed by mid century.
Legal fishermen — the everyday farmers of the seas — have licenses they must protect and laws they must obey. But illegal fishing — often done on the high seas where regulations are lax and catch limits can be exceeded with impunity, or in the coastal waters of developing nations, which lack the ability to fight back — abides by rules of its own.
There are a lot of factors driving the rising global demand for fish. A growing global population needs ready sources of protein, and fish — generally low in fat and high in nutrients — is a natural. Plus, the worldwide explosion in the popularity of sushi means that even people who never liked fish before have developed a taste for it. Global seafood consumption has doubled over the past 40 years, and the sushi boom has tracked that trend."
