Hello everyone! I just got off work...and I'm exhausted...can you tell? Lol.
Take a look at what my manager Angela and I made today!

It's a pizza cake!! :) Someone who works at a local 'Pizza Hut' restaurant ordered this from us and it turned out soooo much better than I originally anticipated. 'Ace of cakes' eat your heart out ;)
Moving on...
I'm not sure if anyone will ever know or understand my love for baking (aside from fellow culinary pursuers). Not that it's necessary for anyone to understand this love of mine. But I wonder if anyone else gets it...
One can look at me and see that I'm about 5'4 - I have dark brown curly hair - Pale skin - I weigh roughly 120 pounds - I have long legs - huge feet - hazel eyes...and I'm sure one can also tell my mood (i'm not very good at hiding my emotions) happy - sad - annoyed - bored - tired - hyper....but I highly doubt one can ever just look at me and know how much joy I get from making something delicious out of a few random ingredients- basically making something out of nothing... I wonder if you can tell that I'm a baker. You know what I mean?
Like personal trainers for instance - I feel like a lot of personal trainers look like personal trainers. Or...lawyers - I feel like most lawyers look like lawyers. So do I look like a baker? I feel like i look like one ( probably because that's the way I view myself)...but when I tell people I'm a culinary major and that I want to be a pastry chef they always look so darn puzzled (but in a good way) like "oh really!? Wow. That's awesome." on opposed to "oh yea...I could totally see you being a culinary major! That really suits you!"
Even if I don't look like one now - One day - I would really like to look the part.
Due to my recent urges to make delicious treats (it's been a while unfortunately) - I decided to make chocolate fudge for the very first time last night! Problem is.....it didn't really turn out like fudge lol. It is hard and chalky like..not fudgey at all lol. I will have to figure out exactly what I did wrong - and when I do - I will definitely put up a recipe!
Well - I suppose it's time for me to get out of my work clothes and get ready for the day ahead of me! Maybe I'll go out to eat somewhere for dinner...if I do - I'm sure you'll hear all about it tomorrow :)
Have a great day!

MEDICAL JOURNAL URGES STRICT REGULATIONS FOR HIGH-CAFFEINE ENERGY DRINKS

“High-caffeine drinks are providing an energy jolt for Canadians young and old, but some products are delivering enough of the drug to potentially cause intoxication, Canada's top medical journal is charging.
"Caffeine-loaded energy drinks have now crossed the line from beverages to drugs delivered as tasty syrups," the Canadian Medical Association Journal says in an editorial to be published Tuesday that calls for prominent labels listing total caffeine content and an end to advertising targeting children.
"These super-loaded syrups typically contain 80 to 140 mg of caffeine per 250 ml — the equivalent caffeine in one cup of coffee or two cans of cola," according to the journal, but some companies are offering formulations containing the caffeine equivalent of 10 cans of cola in a 500 ml serving.
Editor Dr. Paul Hebert says energy drinks are aggressively marketed to youth, especially teenage boys, through advertising and sports sponsorship.
"What are the health concerns of caffeine? With acute intoxication you can get nausea, vomiting, heart palpitations," says Hebert, a critical care physician. "You get GI (gastrointestinal) upset, potentially heart arrhythmia, feelings of anxiety and nervousness. You do get hyper-energized to the point sometimes where your thoughts race and you get quite anxious."
