....because I missed a very very important date....
I MISSED MY 100TH BLOG POST AND DIDN'T EVEN KNOW IT!!!! :(
(This officially my 112th post)
I would've celebrated with some sort of flash back of my favorite posts in the past, but seeing as I have to be at work in 40 minutes, I just don't have the time.
So instead - I shall share with you my first 5 blog posts EVER. This way - in case you are a new reader of mine, and haven't been here from the start - you'll be able to see how far i've come, and what things interested me way back when I was just a wee blogger!
I enjoyed that small stroll down memory lane. I hope you did too.
And i really hope you're all present, and still dedicated readers, when my 200th post rolls around!
(I'll do my best not to miss out on that one lol)
Moving on...
(Weather permitting) I'm going to the beach waterpark today with my friend Kim!! I've lived 30 minutes away from the beach for as long as it's been open (i have no idea how long that is lol) - and yet i've never gone! Silly silly Jenna. I'm super excited to go today, because I feel like I haven't done much "summery" things this summer.
It's time to get cracking down on some summer fun - don't ya think? I always feel like a little kid again whenever I go to amusement parks/water parks. I'm always half tempted to cut all of the lines like I used to when I were younger - then I look around, and notice that I'm one of the oldest people present, and that it probably wouldn't look good if I were acting more childish than the children lol. (But who doesn't flirt with the idea of cutting in front of everyone so they can ride the rides sooner? I know you do!)
Well - that's all I have time for today!
Have a wonderful summer day :)
Let us begin...

“Do genetically modified fruits and vegetables make you uneasy? Get ready for transgenic salmon, set to become the first genetically modified animal to be approved by the FDA. AquaBounty, the company behind the salmon, claims that its AquaAdvantage salmon reaches market size twice as fast as regular salmon (16 to 18 months).
The transgenic salmon is a mash-up of Atlantic salmon, a growth hormone gene from the chinook salmon, and an "on-switch" gene from the ocean pout that triggers the fish to eat year round, according to The Olympian. AquaBounty doesn't plan to sell the actual salmon. Instead, the company will sell fish eggs to farmers.
Despite its initial frankenfish creepiness, AquaBounty's salmon has a number of advantages. By shortening the salmon growing cycle, AquaAdvantage salmon make it easiest for farmers to cash in on their bounty. The fish can also be raised inland, reducing the need for ocean-based pens. And the company claims that its transgenic salmon are sterile, so they won't threaten the already-dwindling populations of wild fish.”
“The stunning elegance of Jeff Nishinaka’s paper art calls for a new definition of paper. His meticulous sculptural 3D work appears to have been created from marble or extremely fine sand or vanilla ice cream or thick foam — definitely of something other than “just” paper. The Los Angeles-born artist works mainly with white, which makes the exquisite play of light and shadow a large part of the appeal of his work.
One might assume that there is very little demand for work that uses one medium and one colour. Not so. Nishinaka’s work pops up everywhere in the most unexpected places, from medical illustrations of the structure of the eye, to private portrait commissions, to a life-size garden for a hotel.
He has a prolific career working in advertising, fashion and fine art, and also creating some larger installations. His commercial work includes commissions for fashion catalogues for Bloomingdales and Galeries Lafayette, advertising work for Visa, Coca Cola, Playboy, American Airlines, Toyota and Mattel. Even the colourful characters of Disney’s Lion King — Pumbaa, Timon, Rafiki et.al. — look absolutely stunning in Nishinaka’s white paper world (image below). If you want to see a lot of Nishinaka’s work in one place, you need to talk to his personal friend, actor Jackie Chan, the owner of the largest Nishinaka collection. - Tuija Seipell”
