Today I am going to a pool party/cook out. We're going to eat, swim, play board games, play wii games - I'm so excited :)
Why am I so excited?
- I love food.
- I love swimming.
- I love the sun - even though I avoid it at all costs (i.e. walking around with an umbrella, staying in the shade, using spf 70, staying out of direct sunlight lol- gotta keep my skin fresh!)
- I am very competitive when it comes to board games. I will dominate everyone - no doubt about it.
And lastly - I am terrible at playing most Wii games, but I like to think that that I'm really good- even though I suck a majority of the time lol.
I made two of my favorite recipes to bring with me to the cookout: Puppy Chow and Spaghetti Salad
So it looks like today will be a pretty fun day - filled with some of my favorite things!
Moving on...
I love old spice commercials. Enough said.
Lastly...
In case you haven't noticed - earlier this week I put a "Flag counter" on my blog. This counter is located on the right hand side of my blog, above my twitter updates. I chose to use this counter because I want an accurate number of how many page views I've had, how many people have visited my site, and where everyone comes from! For the longest time I was debating on wether or not I should continue to update my blog because no one comments! How am I supposed to know if anyone is listening/reading a word of what I say if no one comments? Well I'm glad I have this handy dandy counter now!
I never realized how many people visit my site every day! Since I installed this counter (5 days ago) - I've had 613 page views! 174 people from the U.S. have visited my site, 4 from Canada, 2 from South Korea, etc.
Such a diverse bunch we are! Thank you so much for gracing me with your presence every day! And if you could - do me a solid and spread the word about my blog!
I hope wherever you are in the world - your day is as bright and as sunny as it is in my neck of the woods :)
Let us begin...

SUCRE` - NEW ORLEANS

“From breakfast to a midnight snack, Sucré is available to satisfy your sweet tooth. Sucré (French for sugared) is an emporium of "artisan" sweets. Unlike a traditional bakery, Sucré serves plated desserts with custom garnishes in addition to boxed treats.”

NESTLE PULLS HEALTH CLAIMS FROM KIDS’ DRINK AFTER FEDS OBJECT

“The magical straw in a Nestle's children's vitamin drink is no longer magical.
The Federal Trade Commission say the company's claims that the straw that comes with the "BOOST Kid Essentials" drink contained probiotics that prevent upper respiratory infections, strengthen the immune system and reduce absences from school just went too far. The company agreed to stop making the claims, but we wondered, is there a pattern here?
FTC flagged one particular ad (shown above) where the straw jumps out of the drink box and forms a barrier around a girl who encounters a sneezing boy. Then the barrier forms steps to allow her to shoot a basketball into a net. Clever, right? This from a company that recently announced some aging pop-culture icons have recently formed the Butterfinger Defense League to boost sales of candybars.
But maybe not a trend. "History has shown us that if a claim can be made, it's going to be," Stephen Barrett, who runs the website Quackwatch says. Companies are "willing to stretch the truth if it will sell," he says, although larger companies tend to be more cautious, so we hear less about it.”
