10 inches

The last time you saw me- my hair looked like this....

Before I left for my hair appointment yesterday- my hair looked like this....

While driving to my appointment- my hair looked like this....

During my appointment I got 10 inches cut off - my hair looked like this...

Now - after my appointment - my hair looks like this :)

(All ten inches of my hair was donated to a very good charity - one similar to 'Locks of Love' - I know that my curls will find a very good home)

This is the shortest my hair has been since I was 3 years old. My hair stylist Mary did an amazing job!! I'm so glad I had enough guts to go through with a maneuver of this magnitude. I was afraid that when I cut my hair I would feel less feminine - but it's the exact opposite. I feel beautiful, and extremely empowered. I look and feel like a completely different person.

I'm a whole new Jenna.
I'm a whole new curly head!

(I can't wait to take a new picture of me/myhair/and food for the tippy top of my blog!!!! The picture will be coming soon I promise!)

This morning I.....

.....woke up wondering where the hell my hair went (lol) and then I ate a delicious grilled peanut butter and honey sandwich with a vegan sausage pattie, skim milk, and a coffee.

While I ate this delicious spread of a breakfast - I did what I always do on Wednesdays and Sundays - I completed the 'Hidden Treasures' puzzle in the local paper.

(Am I the only person who loves these things? lol)

Every day on the very front page of the "Life" section of the newspaper - there is a "Tip of the day", "Quotable Quotes", and a "Did you know" column. I thought today's were interesting and quite "shareable blog material".

Every morning - no matter what the day - I eat a block of 85% dark chocolate & accompany it with a flavored green tea. MMMMMMMM!

Why dark chocolate and not milk chocolate? Well - Dark chocolate contains much more cocoa than milk chocolate (while white chocolate doesn't contain any at all). And dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids, which are antioxidants that keep cholesterol from gathering in blood vessels, reduce the risk of blood clots, and slow down the immune responses that lead to clogged arteries. Dark chocolate contains more flavonoids than any other food — including green tea, black tea, red wine, and blueberries. (And note that milk binds to antioxidants, inhibiting their absorption- so don't drink milk with dark chocolate!).
The reason why I eat 85% dark chocolate is because
1. The darker the better/more delicious
2.The higher the percentage - the better it is for you.

Why green tea?
Because it is one of the greatest gifts you can possibly give your body. That's why. Green tea is particularly rich in health-promoting flavonoids (which account for 30% of the dry weight of a leaf), including catechins and their derivatives. The most abundant catechin in green tea is epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), which is thought to play a pivotal role in the green tea's anticancer and antioxidant effects. Catechins should be considered right alongside of the better-known antioxidants like vitamins E and C as potent free radical scavengers and health-supportive for this reason.
Green tea drinkers appear to have lower risk for a wide range of diseases, from simple bacterial or viral infections to chronic degenerative conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, periodontal disease, and osteoporosis.

Gotta love green tea and a good ol case of the "morning fro/morning curls" lol

I just stumbled upon this video…

…of me and my friends on the Regis and Kelly show a few years ago!

Fast forward this video to 1:01 minutes in and you’ll get a glimpse of us! And then from 1:07- 1:17 !!!! My hair is really long and curly and I’m standing behind a guy and next to a bond girl. I’m smiling super big and waving a lot lol.

We were in the worlds largest bubble! ……Until this guy broke his own record on the Oprah show a few weeks later lol. Damn you Oprah!!! I could’ve been in the guiness book of world records!!

While going through my daily "blog check" today I came across a lot of pictures that I find interesting, cool, beautiful, and wonderful in one way or another:

Let us begin...

POP-TARTS OPENS RESTAURANT: 4 CRAZY TREATS ON THE MENU

"It might not be the healthiest breakfast choice you can make, but for those hungering for a Pop-Tart and roaming the streets of New York City, your prayers have been answered. The iconic toasted confection opened a flagship store and cafe in Times Square Tuesday.

According to the New York Times, Kellogg's, the company that has made Pop-Tarts since the late 1960s, is renting a 3,200-square-foot space until January, at which point they will consider whether New York needs a permanent tart-aria.

What's on the menu at the new outpost?

According to the New York Times, the menu includes:

1. Fluffer Butter, marshmallow spread sandwiched between two Pop-Tarts frosted fudge pastries

2. Sticky Cinna Munchies, cinnamon rolls topped with cream-cheese icing and chunks of Pop-Tarts cinnamon-roll variety

3. Ants on a Log: celery, peanut butter and chunks of the Wild Grape version

4. Pop-Tarts Sushi, three kinds of Pop-Tarts minced and then wrapped in a fruit roll-up."

  1. Cute haircut! Where did you get it done? My stylist moved away recently and I haven't found another one yet.
