The dog days are over...

Good evening everyone!
I meant to publish this particular post at 6:30 today (which explains why it's bright outside in the above picture) but I started getting ready to go to the gym and I completely forgot!
It is now 11:30 pm. So looks like this is going to be a late night for me!

Lets get the ball rolling...

A few Funny Hilarious food related videos I’ve stumbled upon today…..

Perhaps I'm the only one who thinks these are funny....which is usually the case with most things. But I don't care lol. I love them :)

(1)HAHAHA I love when he announces the secret ingredient on ‘Iron Chef’– it’s my favorite part because it’s so funny. So this is the absolute perfect video for me!

(I’ve watched this about 10 times – and when he goes “MMMMMMANGOS” and “FARMERS MARKET!” I completely lose it every time. And the face he makes when he says “BEER” is priceless.)

(2)Doesn’t every girl do a little dance before they eat their pizza? I know I do lol.

(Please- no one ever translate this for me……the fact that I have no idea what the captions are and no idea what’s going on– makes it all the more funny)

(3) (I must warn you - some of this is inappropriate. But I have an inappropriate sense of humor for the most part lol. If you offend easily.....pass this by lol. You've been warned)

Oh Sandra Lee - how you amuse me so... I just couldn't stop laughing :)

(4)OMG. WTF? LOL. This is just plain DEATH. Delicious – heart stopping – artery clogging – DEATH.

( This isn't so much funny as it it ridiculous lol.)

I've been following my work out regimen so far....

In my last blog post I promised myself I would get in shape and that I wouldn't make any more excuses for why I can't go to the gym.
So I decided to set a specific work out schedule for myself which includes:

Sunday
12:30-1:30 p.m. Zumba Hip Hop

Monday
7-9 p.m. Zumba Hip Hop

Tuesday & Thursday
6- 6:30 p.m.Turbo Step & Kick
6:30-7 Thigh, Butt & Gut
7-8 Zumba Hip Hop

Wednesday
7-8 p.m. Zumba Hip Hop

I started my whole routine yesterday (Sunday), and I can't believe I forgot how much fun Zumba is! If you know me - you know that i LOVE to dance, so of course I feel completely happy and in my element when it comes to a class such as Zumba.
I was the youngest and the smallest woman in that class, but I was also the one who was in the least shape. Fun? Not so much lol. Those women were just dancing away like it was nothing! They were hardly breaking a sweat! And here I am - 20 years younger than a good majority of them, drenched and panting within the first 15 minutes of the hour long class! Haha.

Todays class was no different ...
Except instead of one hour- it was 2 hours long (ugh). At least this time I had my sister by my side for motivation.

To be quite honest I thought I was going to die of exhaustion at the 1 hour mark. (Imagine dancing really fast for 2 hours straight - non stop) When I was feeling like quitting - i took a look around me and saw that all of the older women were still going strong, and that my sister was also trucking away, so I decided to suck it up and continue. As much as I love to dance, and as much as I love that class, I wanted so badly to walk out of that room and just drive home. But I didn't! I stuck it out though the whole two hours like a true "getter in shapper" would do! :)

I can't wait til all of my hard work starts to pay off! Soon i'll be feeling great and I'll be able to breeze through these classes like nobody's business!!

While going through my daily "blog check" today I came across a lot of pictures that I find interesting, cool, beautiful, and wonderful in one way or another:

Say goodbye to the mop atop my head.....

because i'm choppin it off tomorrow! Getting rid of my long locks, and trading them in for smaller ones. I'll take pictures of my new fro and update them asap. Fingers crossed that I don't look like a little boy lol :)

Let us begin...

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE – DOG DAYS ARE OVER

This is my new favorite song. So uplifting. Such a happy little number :)

Do I dance along with it every morning? Why yes....yes I do.

"Leave all your love and your loving behind you
Can’t carry it with you if you want to survive

The dog days are over
the dog days are done
Can’t you hear the horses
Cuz here they come"

A MAN WITH MUFFIN SECRETS, BUT NO JOB WITH THEM

"Bite into a Thomas’ English muffin and, it turns out, you are about to swallow one of the most closely guarded secrets in the world of baking. The company that owns the Thomas’ brand says that only seven people know how the muffins get their trademark tracery of air pockets — marketed as nooks and crannies — and it has gone to court to keep a tight lid on the secret.

That leaves one of the seven, Chris Botticella, out of a job — and at the center of a corporate spectacle involving top-secret recipe files, allegations of clandestine computer downloads and an extreme claim of culinary disloyalty: dumping English muffins for Twinkies and Ho Hos.

Mr. Botticella, 56, delved into the mystery of Thomas’ muffinhood (hint: it has nothing to do with the fork), after Bimbo Bakeries USA bought the brand early last year. At the time, Mr. Botticella was a Bimbo vice president in charge of bakery operations in California."

“According to Bimbo’s filings, the secret of the nooks and crannies was split into several pieces to make it more secure, and to protect the approximately $500 million in yearly muffin sales. They included the basic recipe, the moisture level of the muffin mixture, the equipment used and the way the product was baked. While many Bimbo employees may have known one or more pieces of the puzzle, only seven knew every step.”
