How are you doing on this fine Thursday? I'm just fantastic!
I woke up at 7 a.m. ran a mile, did pushups, situps, my leg exercises, ate breakfast, and caught up on a few of my shows this morning. All in the span of 4 hours! What an eventful day so far!
Why the emphasis on my workout regimen this morning?
It's all a part of my "Jenna's Winners list" list. My best friend and I made a list of what we believe makes us winners. We've been slacking lately and need a little bit of discipline in our lives.
So what exactly does this list consist of? The list consists of things I KNOW my body can accomplish, but doesn't necessarily sound believable. For example: break dancing (this is not on my list lol). I know it is well within me to bust a move, spin on my head, and break dance better than anyone else. My body is capable of this - but just because my body is capable, does it sound believable? No lol. It sounds crazy. But I know I can do it.
This is exactly what Jenna's Winners List is all about. The list consists several things including: Waking up at 7 a.m. every single morning, doing 50 pushups, 200 situps, and running 3 miles every single day.
These are things well within my reach but may not seem possible physically or mentally on certain days of the week. But it doesn't matter - I have to do these things every single day no matter what. This is called discipline. I can't do pushups to save my life, and i hate trying - but did I do 50 this morning anyway? Why yes. Yes I did. Granted it took me 15 minutes to do it lol, but I did it.
Perhaps you should take my lead and make your own list! It might do you some good :)
One of my best friends from Ohio is on vacation in Florida!!

Need I say more??????
I've got myself into yet another breakfast rut....

PIZZERIA BIANCO – PHOENIX, AZ
OMG...The very large version of myself hidden deep within NEEDS THIS PIZZA ASAP. She's drooling something crazy. Good thing I don't live in Phoenix....i'd be huge.
“Move over Chicago and New York: Phoenix is the new heavyweight in the fight for the title of greatest pizza in the land, thanks to downtown's Pizza Bianco. Chris Bianco, a James Beard Foundation award-winning chef (that's right: for pizza), combines his Italian heritage and New York upbringing with a zen-like approach of balance and simplicity to his national attention-garnering gourmet pies.
This restaurant, opened in 1994, embodies the philosophy that good things come to those who wait, as long-lines often ensure a lengthy wait. Thankfully, you can snag a seat, a glass of wine and some appetizers at the adjoining Bar Bianco. Or you can lounge outdoors in the courtyard until you're called into the main dining room.
Using farmer's-market-fresh vegetables, house-made mozzarella and bakery-worthy bread from the wood-burning oven, the establishment crafts a small selection of pizzas that includes the Wiseguy – fennel sausage, mozzarella and wood-roasted onion – and the Rosa with red onion, parmigiano reggiano, rosemary and pistachios. A few bites into the chewy, puffy, yet still somewhat thin and crispy crust will make you banish the pizza delivery number from your speed dial forever.”

"The time has come to uncover a new level of awesome" reads Fargginay's website, maker of bacōn, a bacon-scented cologne. Mixed with "11 essential oils," the cologne is "said to trigger pleasant memories." Of bacon! It comes in two flavors: Classic, which is maple-y, and Gold, which smells more like citrus. We're 93% this is for real? Does it actually smell like bacon? According to their website: "Yes and No. These are sophisticated aromas...It's there alright, and the real fun is in finding it." So, maybe?
"Ecovative Design, a startup in Green Island, N.Y., is collaborating with the Ford Motor Company (F, Fortune 500) to develop a fungus-based, biodegradable foam for automotive bumpers, side doors and dashboards. "You would be able to compost your car," says Gavin McIntyre, 25, chief scientist and co-founder of Ecovative.
The secret? Mycelium, the strong root system of mushrooms, is a natural binding agent that can knit together agricultural by-products, including corn and oat husks. Ecovative technicians combine the husks and the mycelium in trays of various shapes and sizes. The trays spend five days in a darkened warehouse, long enough for the mushrooms to work their magic, before the rooted mixture is cooked and dried.
The result is a fireproof, waterproof foam solid, which decomposes one month after it's been buried in soil. Ecovative wants to challenge the $20 billion polystyrene and Styrofoam industry, betting that its funky, earth-friendly foam will show up in building insulation, table and cabinet cores, surfboards and even wind turbine blades. The invention won accolades from the World Economic Forum, which included Ecovative among its Technology Pioneers of 2011. (In past years, that list has featured Twitter and Google (GOOG, Fortune 500).)"

"Ice cream and other tasty, high-calorie foods would seem to have little in common with cocaine, but in some people's brains they can elicit cravings and trigger responses similar to those caused by addictive drugs, a new study suggests.
Women whose relationship to food resembles dependence or addiction -- those who often lose control and eat more than they'd planned, for example -- appear to anticipate food in much the same way that drug addicts anticipate a fix, according to the study, which used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) brain scans.
When these women saw pictures of a chocolate milk shake made with Häagen-Dazs ice cream, they displayed increased activity in the same regions of the brain that fire when people who are dependent on drugs or alcohol experience cravings. When presented with the same milk shake, women who don't feel addicted to food showed comparatively less activity in those regions."

I really like this - The bathing suits. Her hair. The way it's shot. The man. The music. The minimal dialogue. It's well done.

(5) HOLI: FESTIVAL OF COLORS

“Every year, Hindus greet the turn of winter into spring with a splash of color -- in some areas, a geyser of color. They call their celebration the festival of Holi, and Hindus across India and throughout the world share prayer, camaraderie, special food, and a general sense of mischief as they douse each other in dyes and colored water. The large festival has roots to many Hindu legends associated with the triumph of good over evil. One of the best-known stories tells the tale of the demoness Holika, who tried to kill Prahlad, the son of the demon king Hiranyakashyap, for refusing to worship his father. Instead, Holika is consumed in flames, which is replayed each year with bonfires and effigies, before the celebrants break out the hues and cries of the festival.”
